Artcast4D partners met at the municipality of Issy-les-Moulineaux and at Université Paris-Saclay to showcase the latest research and results from their first project pilots, which created new, immersive experiences with artists, museums, and cultural centres in France, Greece, Italy, Spain, and the UK.
The consortium explored:
Fresco, a multilayered, movement-responsive artwork co-created by local citizens and artists, in Issy Ville’s French Playing Cards Museum using the project’s innovative AAASeed 3D/4D immersive technology.
Partners also engaged with:
Les Fibres d’Ariane's motion-sensitive avatars, adaptive soundtrack and weather-dependent images created by scientist-artist Ikse Maître, with interactive musical composition by Vincent Hulot and 3D real-time developments by Cervval, displayed on external screens and projected on the floor in front of the Forum des images cinema complex in central Paris to test immersion in open public spaces.
Both museum and cinema partners expressed satisfaction with their Artcast4D creative collaboration and a desire to explore further immersive possibilities to attract more visitors.
Ikse Maître presented cutting-edge installations to test the keys to immersive experiences at Le sas unique art-science workspace in the former linear accelerator of particles at the science faculty of Paris-Saclay University in Orsay.
Maître presented:
Memory Box, part of The Monroe Experience, a virtual reality story told by Marilyn Monroe in her own words, using immersive sounds and images;
The L∞p, a 360° immersive experience of space and time enjoyed by over 20,000 visitors, especially children;
The Eye of the Sun, an original full sphere projection and giant orb revealing recorded images in the ultraviolet light of the surface of the sun dynamics to recreate and react like a human eye in response to the presence and touch of people.
Daniel Schutze, founder of project partner MDLite, gave the group a Paris preview of their latest interactive installation, Strata, a city mapping application that allows visitors to walk through the streets and history of cities over the centuries.
